Week 9, Thing 23

Wow, I didn't think I would ever get here. At times I was frustrated, but I have learned alot about things I never knew exhisted. I especially liked Flickr and YouTube for fun things. For learning purposes I liked setting up and learning about Bloglines Newsreader. Also, just learning to blog was interesting. I don't think I could have completed his without Jennifer's help. She really deserves a pat on the back (or a raise) hahaha, She has been very helpful thru this whole process. Thanks Jennifer!!!

Week 9, Thing 22

I think downloadable books are a great new way to access books. I can see where this would be especially good for blind or people that can't see well enough to read. I could not get into Overdrive or Net Library. I did go to Project Gutenberg and looked up some titles. I listened to the guided tour by Overdrive.

Week 9, Thing 21

When going to some of these directories and typing in the name of a book, to find a review alot of garbage came up. Not sure if I was doing it correctly, but finally with Yahoo, I found what I was looking for.

Week 9, Thing 20

I love looking at things on YouTube. If you are down, just go there and look at some of the Shih-tzu puppies playing and it has to brighten your day. I am sure there are things on YouTube that would be beneficial in the library, but I have only used it for personally.

Week 8, Thing 19

I went to a few of the websites. I really liked some of the medical ones, and Pandora Radio, you pick out your favorite artist and they compile a list of artists and songs from that era. Really neat!!!!

Week 8, Thing 18

I can see where some of these web-based applicatons could really be of benefit. I like the idea that you don't have to be at a specific computer to view your documents. You also don't have to worry about if you have the corrrect software version in order to view your documents.

Week 7, Thing 17

I added a picture to the pets page, also added my blog to the list.
This seemed to be pretty easy.

Week 7, Thing 16

My concern with using Wikis is that people can improperly edit things.
This sounds like an interesting tool, but in my job, I don't think it will
be something I use regularly.

Week 6, Thing 15

I can see that Library 2.0 will help expand services to the community. The future of libraries and librarians are constantly changing at a faster pace than ever before in history. I read the first three articles, which were all interesting. I thought the third one seemed to be an advertisement for OCLC.
I enjoyed Into A New World of Librarianship, by Michael Stephens the best. He feels the most important traits of Library 2.0 are that: Librarians 2.0 plans for their users, embraces Web 2.0 tools, controls technolust, makes good, yet fast decisions, is a trendspotter, and Librarian 2.0 gets content. Therefore "Librarian 2.0, then, is the “strategy guide” for helping users find information, gather knowledge and create content."

Week 6, Thing 14

I did not subscribe to Technorati. I do not
think I will search blogs at my current job.

Week 6, Thing 13

I can see where this would be useful to a librarian in a public setting. I don't think that it will be beneficial in my job.

Week 5, Thing 12

My Rollyo is here. The hardest thing was trying to link it to my blog.

Week 5, Thing 11

I found Library Thing very easy to use, although I doubt I will ever use it.

Week 5, Thing 10

This was created thru Yahoo.

Week 4, Thing 9

I found using Blogline's Search tool one of the easiest ways to find information. I also liked Topix.net. This search tool was easy to follow using keywords and phrases. This tool focuses specifically on news and Media RSS feeds.

Week 4, Thing 8

RSS can make things much simplier when it comes to wanting information quickly. I honestly did not know such thing existed. I think it will take me a little time to get used to it, but I can see where it can save alot of time.

Week 3, Thing 7

Yahoo and AOL have enabled me
to be able to talk with family and friends.

I am very thankful for all the medical
technology we have these days.

Week 3, Thing 6

I really like the trading card maker. I made
a trading card of "My Little Angel" "PooBear"

Week 2, Thing 4

Reminder that I need to keep the log
of what I have accomplished.

Week 1, Thing 1

Learning about the program. I'm not sure
what I have gotten myself into.

Week I, Thing 2

Life Long Learners.
I do struggle with having confidence in
myself, so for me this would probably
be the most difficult of the 7 1/2 things.
The easiest would be Play!!!

Week 2, Thing 3

With a little help from Jennifer,
I have a blog!! I'm excited.

The 7.5 Habits are:

1. Begin with the end in mind

6. Use technology to your advantage
